10 places for a holiday in Badulla – Ella area

Ella is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sri Lanka.  Many people who like hilly areas come to these places to spend their vacations.  The journey from Colombo to Badulla is especially considered the most beautiful train journey in Sri Lanka.  Here are some of the most popular destinations for tourists who want to vacation amidst the cold mountain climate.

01. Ella Rock

This is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Badulla.  This destination attracts a large number of tourists, both local and foreign.  Tourists from all over the world who love hiking are regularly seen in this area.  The Ella Rock Rise starts near the Kithalella Train Station.  From there you have to go to the top of the mountain.  It is a long journey but can be traveled without any effort.  Plant diversity and animal diversity can be seen here.  The most popular time to climb Ella Rock is between 8-9 in the morning.  But if you want to see the sunrise in the morning, you have to start climbing this mountain around 4 in the morning.

Ravana Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in Sri Lanka.  This waterfall is named after King Rawana who is believed to have ruled the country 5000 years ago.  This waterfall is located near the Colombo – Wellawaya road.  Very clear water is seen because of the spring water.  This place is known as the best place to take photos.  But you have to be more careful when you prepare to bathe in this place.  This is because the water level in this place changes very quickly.

The Little Adams Peak is another popular tourist destination located in the Badulla area.  The specialty of this place is that you can see the sunrise and sunset very beautifully.  This trek can be described as another beautiful climb.  This place can be described as one of the most memorable places to visit for local and foreign tourists visiting Badulla.

04. Lipton Seat

The site used by Sir Thomas Lipton, a famous planter during the British colonial period, to observe the environment is known as the Lipton Seat.  It is located close to the Haputale area in the Badulla district.  This can be described as a very beautiful place.  From this place, one can observe up to Hambantota on the south coast.  In addition, there are many other beautiful places to visit.  If you visit this place, the best time is between 8 am and 12 noon.

05. Nine Arch Bridge

This is one of the finest designs made by Sri Lankan engineers during the colonial period.  As we mentioned earlier this place is found on the Badulla – Colombo train journey which is the most beautiful train journey in Sri Lanka.  This is a bridge that connects two mountains.  The bridge is made of stone and nine arches are used for this purpose.  This place is a favorite destination of many tourists.  Many people like to take photos of the bridge as seen from the tea estate near the bridge.  This photo is definitely available on the Instagram account of any girl who comes to Sri Lanka.

06. Diyaluma waterfall and upper Diyaluma waterfall

Diyaluma Falls is the second tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka.  It is also one of the most visited waterfalls in the world.  This waterfall is located in the Koslanda area.  It is a place close to Badulla.  From the road, you can see the melting waterfall.

The upper melting waterfall is the upper part of the melting waterfall.  That is where the waterfalls down.  You can come to this place.  You can reach this high point in a short time.  Then you will meet the heavens.  There are large pools made of water.  Many foreigners, as well as local tourists, like to post photos of this place on their social media.  A very beautiful environment can be seen here.  But you have to be careful that the water sometimes rises rapidly.  So watch out and have fun.

07. Dunhinda Falls

There is only one answer to the question of what is the most popular waterfall in Sri Lanka.  It is a rainbow waterfall.  I have never heard of a waterfall with so many poems, songs, and praises.  This waterfall is based on the Badulu Oya.  It is always a place full of local and foreign tourists.  This waterfall is found while walking a short distance into the forest from the main road.  A viewing point has also been constructed for this waterfall.  It is dangerous to go down from that place.

08. Adisham Bungalow

There are bungalows in various parts of Ceylon built by planters and governors during the British colonial period.  Adisam Bungalow is one of the most beautiful bungalows in the area.  It is located close to Haputale in the Badulla area.  A place that is still beautifully maintained.  It is also used as a Catholic monastery.  Very nice place.  This is open to the public only on weekends and holidays.

09. Madolsima – Exodus Little Doomsday

Places with a large slope of 90 degrees and above in Sri Lanka are called Lokantha.  The main end of the world in Sri Lanka is located in the Horton Plains area.  In addition, a number of small domains are in hand throughout the mountains.  Among them, Madolsima – Exodus Little Doomsday holds a special place.  This place is frequented by many people, especially those who like to camp and go on excursions.  In foggy places, you can visit many beautiful places.  There is a map of those places.  Be careful when walking in that place especially during foggy times.

10. Demodara train knot

This place can be described as another beautiful place to visit on the beautiful Badulla train journey.  And the construction technology here is amazing.  When the British were constructing the railway line to Badulla, they came across a very steep place.  This amazing train knot was created by an explanation given by a Sri Lankan worker on how to fry his jata as the train crashes while being built on that slope.  This is a place that is worth a visit because of its beauty.  Local and foreign tourists visit this place regularly.  You have to get off at this train station to see the Nine Arches Bridge.
